2019 Rent

It’s that time of year again!

Scott, the treasurer, can supply you with the account details if you want to do a quick bank transfer – just drop him an email and he’ll get back to you.

If you’d need to pay by cash or cheque, Scott will be at the pavilion for a couple of hours each Sunday. He’ll try to accommodate as many people as possible by adjusting the timing from week to week in case one Sunday’s timeslot clashes with a regular commitment you might have.

Rents are due by the date of the AGM, which is always the second Sunday in May.

Request from Glasgow Allotment Forum as informed by Scottish Allotment & Gardens Society.

Dear All

The Scottish Government have just issued a Consultation on Statutory Guidance on allotments that could really support allotment associations. However there is a possibility that may be diluted if those of us in the allotment community do not respond.

It is therefore very important that everyone with an interest in allotments contributes to this Consultation.

We attach a synopsis of the main questions and links to the documents together with a briefing to give you an idea of the kind of responses you might want put in the comments boxes. The questions in the Consultation often contain several statements in one question and since it is unclear how they will be evaluated we suggest that you use the comment boxes to make your response.

The briefing is based on information from the Scottish Allotments and Gardens Society (www.sags.org.uk) and a seminar with members of the Glasgow Allotment Forum.

Please pass this email on to anyone who may be affected by the Guidance.

Best wishes
Jenny Reeves

Finding A Future for Pollok Stables

Please come along to our final consultation events for ‘Finding A Future for Pollok Stables’. These sessions will look explore future options for the stables and present initial findings from our previous consulatations and conversations.

Pollok Stables face serious challenges – the buildings are desperately in need of emergency repairs and a sustainable, sympathetic long-term use. We’ve been holding a series of hands-on events and conversations with park users and community groups, looking at the buildings’ history and the threats they face and gathering views on how to secure their long-term future.

Come along to our final events this October and have your say! We are keen to get as much local opinion and insight as possible. All events are free of charge and include activities for children.

Venue: Visitor Centre, Old Stable Courtyard, Pollok Park
Dates and Times: Drop in any time between 11am – 4pm, Sun 15th October and Wed 18th October
